Bolsonaro já foi hospitalizado algumas vezes pelo mesmo motivo desde que foi vítima de uma facada durante a campanha eleitoral de 2018. Em 2022, o ex-presidente foi internado ao menos duas vezes pelo mesmo problema.
A internação acontece um dia depois da invasão promovida por manifestantes terroristas aos prédios do Congresso Nacional, Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) e Palácio do Planalto.
